Reviews
To start with, the place has amazing park and green environment. The food is good and the restaurant is beautiful and elegant. The service is mostly professional, polite, help-full snd caretaking. The rooms are charming even though old.
The disturbing part is heat in the rooms and the air. A bit hard to deal with no ac and very noisy environment so to open the window is not un option.
And than to the mist absurd policy of all policy’s. No phone calls in the restaurant. So, if you are alone traveling you just need to be happy about listening all others conversations but you are aloud to basically text. The only explanation went: that it us disturbing other guests😳. Hard to believe but I decided to respect the nonsense policy. Unfortunately the person I spoke to was even irritated for me questioning the validity of this policy (since everyone else in the restaurant were having conversations that I heard) and he rolled his eyes, acted irritated and rude.
This policy does not makes any sense unless it is encouraging people to be present in the moment or to be silent. But than it should be forbidden also to have conversations in person too, since it could disturb people who seek silence.
While I was respecting the policy there were people talking in the phone where the stuff just ignored.
I am not taking it personally but…
Staff were very helpful and hospitality was a top notch.loved the place.Everything served on the plate was delicious, can't get better than this,.
We book two nights for part of our anniversary tour of Northern Europe. This small hotel was truly the highlight of the trip. The staff was well beyond FIVE STAR. Even to the point of not switching to English in spite of our limited German. The rooms were fresh and very clean. Breakfast was as good as any of our trip. We are planning to return for a full week next year.
I had a wonderful stay I never stayed in a castlebefore...the Service was fantastic, friendly and warm welcoming...I forgot to close my car trunk. I took of with my Bike for a few hours .. there was a heavy rain shower and the receptionist went out to my car to close it ...THANK YOU Sir....Hotel was cosy very cool place ...I will be back ..
The Room has no airconditioning, I did not get a reservation at the resturant. The service is friendly, and the location is close to the airport.
Unfortunately we booked this hotel for 2 nights. If it is warm and you want a fresh air in your room it is impossible to let the windows opened due to the noise of the roads. The shower towels are small and feel like sandpaper. The breakfast to our surprise has a buffet at the main entrance and very tide to be served, no elegance at all.
This was the worst… the day of our leaving I was in the bathroom, while my husband went downstairs. I heard the door being opened, I called for his name, but instead of my husband it was the housekeeper entering the room without knocking at the door. This behavior is not acceptable in any place, much less in a 4* hotel.
Hotel Schloss Wikingshege doesn’t deserve any star.
Schloss Wilkinghege is a beautiful place to enjoy a quiet night. Even though the B54 is about 100m away I felt well rested and did not notice it.
Breakfast is served in the beautiful old cellar with a good selection of excellent food. Everything is fresh, the coffee tastes good and you can get stuff like omelette cooked as well.
The suite was very comfortable with plenty of space. The only thing I did not particularly like were the window blinds. I like to sleep in the dark, and they let in too much light for my taste.
The food in the restaurant was outstanding and worth the slightly higher price. The dining room alone is worth a look!
There are enough parking spaces available for guests.
Every room in the Schloss has a great view of either the well manicured grounds to the front or the golf course across the moat in the back. Huge bathrooms and incredible attention to detail by the staff make this a great choice. I stayed with my family for a week and was never disturbed. The high class restaurant is not children friendly but the breakfast buffet is well done and in a castle cellar. The bus to Muenster stops right at the hotel entrance. The people who work here care about their hotel and it shows.
